I woke up 5 am to prepare myself as the driver was going to pick me up at 6 am. I was carpooling with one of my colleagues and met up with the rest at Changi Airport. The traffic from Johor Bahru to Changi was super smooth. It was a totally different sight as compared to the normal traffic at 6 am.
We reached Changi Airport before 7 am and checked in our luggage. Mine was 19kg with all the brochures and gifts inside it. Our flight to Dubai is 10.10 am and we still have plenty of time until the boarding time.
I met up with my other colleagues and went pass the immigration. After that, we took our breakfast in the food court. I had Subway for my breakfast. Buffalo Chicken in exact. It was SGD 5.90 with a 6 inch sandwich, a drink and a cookie.
I couldn't finish everything so I kept the cookie for later. Then, we moved to our boarding gate and waited there. Finally, we boarded at 9. 35am. When I got to my seat, there were blanket, pillow and headphone on the seat.
The entertainment on board was really good as it was packed with movies and drama of different genres. It could keep me busy for this seven and a half hours flight.
After a while, I was handed a menu with all the selection of beverages from juices, sodas, beer and wines. Also in the menu were the meals selection whether we want to have chicken or beef. Cup noodles were also available if I felt hungry during the flight.

For the lunch, I requested for a chicken meal as I couldn't take beef due to religious and belief. However, I was told by the air stewardess that she is out of chicken. I explained that I really couldn't take beef. She told me that she will checked with others if there was any chicken meal left and she handed me the appetizer, dessert and drink first. She apologized to me and I told her it was okay. I understood that this would happened to passengers who had seats at the end of the cabin. I found it a little bit unfair though but it was fate right? I could still ask for cup noodles if I'm hungry. (This was what I thought at that moment.)
I also asked for a bottle of red wine. I was not a big fan of wine but I would like to have some once in a while.
I was given a small bottle of red wine. It was not bad I should say though I did not know much about red wine but I had tasted red wine that are bad. So, I kind of like it. Then, the air stewardess came back to me with a chicken meal, a cream meal in fact. She told me that one of them gave up their meal and gave it to me. It was so nice of them. It was a different meal from the menu. It had pasta, asparagus and chicken in it.
The chicken was slightly salty but it goes really well with the pasta and the asparagus. I loved it. After the meal, I continued watching movies like Mother!, Happy Death Day, Voice Behind The Stone and The Emoji Movie. There were a lot of turbulence throughout the whole flight. Even so, they were still able to serve us drinks and snack every now and then. I had a few cups of pineapple juice (not the very sweet type, I could still get the sour taste from the pineapple.), some biscuits, chocolate treat and beer (when I tried to force myself sleep).
Finally after seven and a half hours, we landed in Dubai. It was quite hot (32-35 degree celcius!!!) and sunny. When we were in the airport, it was super quiet. It made us whisper as we felt guilty to break the silence. We took the train to move from the gate we disembark to the immigration. There were a lot of foreigners, I guessed a lot of them actually came for Gulfood exhibition too.
After we past the immigration, we got our luggage and exchanged some AED as we need that for metro. It was 23AED for every 10 SGD. Then we went to take a taxi to our
hotel (Raviz Centre Point Hotel Dubai). There were different types of taxi and we took the taxi specially for female and family with a female driver. It took less than half an hour to reach the hotel from the airport (they drive very fast in Dubai though). We had our room in the same floor and next to the gym. This is my room for the future 3 nights.
The room was okay but a little bit old. The bed was comfy and it had bathtub in the room. It was 3pm in Dubai when we finally checked in (7pm in Malaysia time). We took a light rest and headed for dinner. All of us were starving so we go for something fast - fast food!!! We had our dinner in Jolibee (Philippines based fast food company). It was my first time tasting it. It was good! I loved their spicy chicken.
I had the set with rice, gravy and chicken. There were a lot of Philippines here in Dubai. They thought I was Philippines and started to speak Tagalog to me. Too bad I couldn't understand but my colleagues from Philippines, she felt so comfortable here. We then go to Carrefour to buy some food to much just in case our stomach haven't get used to Dubai's time. I brought the leftover red wine I had on plane with me. So, I had some wine before I slept that night as I worried that I could not cope with the time difference. Good night!
